Press Releases

Does anyone have a good resource about writing press releases? Or samples of good ones? The samples I see online don't seem all that great to me--not newsworthy at all. I know that the hot technique of the day for marketers is to submit a press release for traffic and I assume that this is part of the reason why the ones that I look at aren't all that great.

I'd love to be able to really nail this format.

Shannon, you are right about the format used by many marketers and it isn't the way to write Press Releases. Many tend to say they are SEO, but a press release is more than this.

I am now back online, and will get you some templates. These are the ones I use when writing press releases for my clients.

I also have an SEO which I will let you have to show how bad they are.
